I love when it is time to do the grocery shopping. It's a meditative experience for me as I think of all the food I can make and how hungry I will not be. Until, of course, I make it through the checkout. Yikes. I did my shopping at Safeway, as Josh insisted, and half of the time he is right. The Commissary is cheap because the food is very low quality and spoils quickly (or not at all...ever.... like the TWO sets of bananas I purchased there. I waited a month for them to ripen before finally giving up. I even tried to eat one- it tasted like a potato.) I can't wait to start purchasing my meat at the farmers market- not that it will be any cheaper, but I just paid an outrageous amount for flank steaks that the commissary charged me half for. Oh well, lesson learned. Life is expensive. Moving on.
Ok, so I originally posted that yesterday was poopy. That's a lie. I just didn't feel like blogging. Yesterday was actually really good! I was blessed yesterday with an awesome opportunity to promote my bakery through an event group. Huzzah! And, I was inspired enough (and had enough ingredients on hand) to make a cake.
It is now in the hands of my cousin and her two adorable sons. I mean really, adorable sons.
We also made a venture to the great farmland pets to get Boomer some more food. Josh entertained himself by staring at a very fat, pretentious looking rabbit and when I tried to get him to come with me he just replied, "No, I want to look at the chicks." *eye roll*
I, on the other hand, found a Jack Russel girl puppy that looks just like Boomer!
I could not contain myself. So adorable. The lady tried to get me to buy her, but Boomer is an only child, and I can't imagine sharing love with two. One is ENOUGH. After much meandering, we left with some new dog food.
And now for some shameless promotion. I feed Boomer Taste of the Wild.
I like it because it's grain free, made with real meat, and tailored specifically to the dog's natural diet. Boomer has a nice shiny coat, easy digestion, and he loves to eat it. I mix up the flavors every now and then. We bought him salmon, and now he has fish breath. Ew.
As far as my diet goes, yesterday was mediocre (being that I had nothing in the house and I was ravenous no matter what I ate).
5 eggs
2 Tbs half and half
3 slices of bacon
3 apples (yes, I have a stomach ache today)
4 Tbs of Almond Butter
One big bowl of veggies
1 Tbs butter
I know I ate more, I just can't remember what it was. But, from what I can tell, 1350 calories or so. I have also discovered that a coffee in the morning makes me hungry all day. Curse you caffeine! So, no coffee until dinner time. :(

Your cake looks beautiful!! I bet you had a great time making it...
EWWW!!! Not the salmon...fishy breath!! On a side note, Brynda says, "You should have bought the baby Java (so she named her)."
