I haven't felt good all week. Cysts run in the family you see, and when you feel like barfing and can barely stand up without passing out, the last thing you want to do is blog. Boomer hasn't felt good either. A few of his puppy teeth refuse to fall out, including a couple of molars, so he rolls like the Coneheads and has two sets of teeth. Poor guy. Can't you tell, he's in pain!
So, of course, there was lot's of snuggling involved in the days to come. Boomer and I watched "The Human Experience." If you haven't seen it, know that it is an incredibly touching documentary that will pluck your heartstrings- especially if you are sick. Tissues are required.
One of Josh's close friends finally came home so we made a night out of it. Steak burritos were involved. We also watched "Jacket." It was a trippy movie, very good, and I now know what Keira Knightley looks like naked. Ew.
Today, I was feeling even worse and didn't get up until eleven-ish. Regardless, we made a date out of it. Josh took me to the library where I picked up a few gardening books and "Walden." This is a very slow read, but well worth it. We then went to Barnes and Noble as the library had nothing to Josh's tastes. Below, you shall witness the culmination of thousands of years of philosophy. Yep, stupid, I know.
After our very long stay at the bookstore, Josh took me out for sushi. It was delicious. The fortune cookie warned me to look out for my reputation this month. I didn't even know I had one of those... After lunch, we went home and I slept some more. After cuddling with Boomer, Josh was antsy again so we grabbed Boomer and headed out. We surprised him with a trip to an organic pet store. He was pretty scared at first, but adapted quickly. Since he was such a good boy on the way over, and even won the "staring game" with Josh, I bought him some pizzle sticks. They stink, but I'm hoping they will help alleviate some tooth pain. Poor guy.
Then it was back to the bookstore. Josh bought me Grimm's Fairytales which made me incredibly happy. The libraries around here didn't have it. I know, right? That's what I was thinking!!!
And the night ended with cuddles. Good day.
This weekend it has been nearly impossible to follow the paleo diet strictly. I had to have some rice to absorb the stomach acid I was getting. I feel no regret. I also made ice cream. I will never do this again, but it was beyond delicious. Besides, the paleo diet is a lifestyle not a prison routine. As Josh writes on our new "thinking board," 'nothing in excess' (in Greek of course).
