Entrapment

When I say that, I'm speaking of the socio-political atmosphere that seems to be plaguing the nation lately. I'm not going to even bother delving into it, or going on and on in some long blog post- I'm tired and Boomer has to see the vet early in the morning. Anyway, it annoys me when people who fancy themselves to be "multicultural and tolerant" accuse those who hold their own faith in the same manner as be indignant, ignorant, intolerant, and evil. If I were to say that I didn't agree with gay marriage or that national healthcare is a mistake, I could easily be labeled as a narrow minded bigot. To me, this is the greatest hypocrisy. What credentials do others have to call me this? Did I miss the rightful name calling class? Anyone? Does this even make sense? I feel as those who stand for one thing and one thing only are entrapped and vilified, even if we have openly considered other views and yet still stand by our own. It just seems ridiculous to me.
Oh, and while I'm ranting, is it just me or does it seem like 99% people who pay 90,000 dollars to study art, can't do it very well? Idk, maybe I'm bitter or something...
Aside from political talk, things are going ok. Boomer is keeping my head above the water as Josh is gone more and more. It's slightly awkward forcing yourself to do things that once upon a time brought so much joy- like painting, or reading, or anything. I guess it's slightly more difficult to do in complete silence. Boomer has taken to the under-couch. Must be cool or something under there.
