Christmas baking recipes

Ok, I lied. Again. I am a liar and this blog is a recording of my liar lies. I said I would post the recipes two days ago. I need to stop making promises. Anyway, on to more important things, like Christmas preparations! I hosted Santa's kitchen the other day and made;

  • Sugar Cookies (which I STINK at decorating. Practice makes perfect I guess.)
  • Chocolate Fudge with crushed Candy Canes (Candy Canes are my FAVORITE Christmas decoration/dessert.... ever.)
  • Peanut Butter Fudge
  • Oreo Truffles (which I am told are so good I don't even know. You're right. I don't even know. I can't eat them.)
I kept everything simple because all of these butt enhancing delectables where going to dudes (who could care less what they look like and more what they taste like). I did wrap them pretty though. Sailors need to be reminded that there are some women out there that make the world a beautiful place.

My Fudge Recipes-
This is a no fail recipe for fudge. I mean, really, you'd have to be making this fudge upside down while high and playing Rock Band- and maybe even then you wouldn't mess it up.

12 oz of chips ( I used Nestle Semi Sweet and then Reese's Peanut Butter chips)
1 Can of Condensed milk

Melt the chips.
Pour in milk.
Let set.
Easy.

I will tell you however that I only used about 3/4 of the can for the chocolate and maybe 1/2 the can for the peanut butter fudge. Like I said, no fail, simply delicious. Though, I'm sorry grandma. I have tarnished the Murphy name. I have inherited my mother's ability to kill any type of fudge that requires corn syrup, marshmallows and evaporated milk. It just doesn't happen for me.

Oreo Truffles
These babies are so easy and so delicious.

8 oz of crushed oreo cookies, or 10 oz
8 oz of softened cream cheese
White candy melts.

Mix the cream cheese and crumbs together. Roll into 1" balls and let set in the fridge to harden. Melt the chips and dip the cold truffles into the mix. Set of wax paper to cool. Voila. Food.

I would share the sugar cookie recipe, but it is a heavily guarded Murphy secret, entrusted only to Murphy women. Sorry to disappoint.

Outside the kitchen I have been working feverishly to get Christmas gifts done. Though it looks a little more like this at my desk than anything...

It is very hard to do careful artwork with Boomer around. At least he is cute.
